This was a magical surprise party organised for a 50th Party in Steyning, West Sussex, on the 24th September 2011.
Mark thought that he was having a small supper party; instead, the event was created around the Alice in Wonderland ‘Mad Hatter’ theme with clocks aplenty, playing cards, top hats, flowers and of course a magician and live music! The marquee arrived early on the Friday morning just after Mark had left for work. The team worked all day and into the night to erect the marquee, line, light and decorate it – hanging a huge chandelier in the centre.
Above is the cine-film made of the party, which gives the event a very vintage feel. This was a sit down event for 50 people and the birthday cake was made in the shape of Mark’s vintage Mercedes – a true triumph for everyone and Mark!
It was the first time we had worked with the photographer who used his own original 1970s Super 8 cine-camera and we can’t recommend it highly enough.
